My name is Jay Booth, and I’m 39 years old. I live in Athens, Georgia and I’m interested in taking up a martial art just to get back into shape. I saw on your website where you have classes in Athens, whic is very exciting. I was interested in taking the Kung fu class, but I’m igonorate of the systems and requirements. Are your classes something an out-of-shape 39 year old man could start with on his path to get back in shape?

    Thanks for your time,

    Jay Booth

      Hi Jay,
Thanks for your comment. I myself am 35 and am by no means a spectacular athlete. The beauty of the traditional kung fu that I teach and practice is that it is a gradual and thorough path to wholeness, health, and self-defense skill. The skills that we practice will not work “overnight” and the method is not designed for “quick gains”–on the same token you can begin from right where you are physically. The more time one puts in the more fit one becomes and the more “gong fu” [kung fu=skill aquired through practice] is accumulated. All that to say “YES” come train and see if you like it, you will not be expected to to acrobatics the first day–I will meet you where you’re at.

Thanks for your interest–I hope that we can train together soon!
